Reverze 2009 – Creation Of Life
Posted on 09. Feb, 2009 by Editor-in-Chief in Editorial / Opinion
The 31st of January was the day that Dion went to Reverze in the Sportpalace located in Antwerp, Belgium. According to many this is ab-so-lut-ley the best Belgium harddance event. Will Dion agree on this saying or will he burn it down to the ground? Listen to what he has to say about Reverze 2009!

MAINSTAGE:
Angerfist Live, Deepack, Coone, D-Block & S-Te-Fan, Korsakoff, Headhunterz vs Wildstylez, Playboyz vs Dr Rude, Chicago Zone, Noisecontrollers, Dark-E, Q-ic vs Lethal Mg, Gave. Ronald V, Unknown Species Live, Stephy vs Activator and Binum. Host: MC Villian.
VIP Arena:
Art of Fighters vs Stunned Guys Live, Isaac, Scope DJ, Vince vs The Viper, Josh & Wesz, Psyko Punkz, Demoniak Live, Greg C Vs E-Max, Vicious D & Larsson, Fenix, Mystery vs Instigator, Qatja S and Jones vs Sjoekoe. Hosted by Mc Linez & Mc Apster.

As natural I was packed with 4 VIP-Tickets, 2 friends and my girlfriend on this edition of Reverze. With this line-up the VIP-Ticked doesn’t seem to be an big added value, I mean who wouldn’t go to the main-stage? My main issue was, I really hate long lines. I’m being for real here, the sight of thousands of people in a line doesn’t make me very happy. I’m not arrogant my dear friends, I just feel far to good to stand in a line!
But even that is to much to ask, “VIPs” had to wait 50 minutes in a “VIP” entrance line! Exactly… You get the point.
Are there so many important people to make a line with a 50 minute length? I mean how could they ever mess up with the VIP-Tickets like this?!? A “VIP” shouldn’t stand in the cold for 50 minutes, period!
After finally getting into the VIP-area we walked to the VIP-Deck and the main-stage looked absolutely massive at the first sight. It definitely made me “WOW”!. It had really big and long video-screens, a massive laser-show (images) and a big circle with lights at the ceiling with a cocoon attached to it in the middle. It seems to had a connection with the “Creation of Life”, the event’s name. From this point on it looked like they had a surprise for us popping out of that cocoon!
So nowadays everybody wants to be that nerd ! LIKE DJ COONE
That was the sound we heard when the event started. Plain simple and no-nonsense. We all wanna be a nerd! Just like DJ COONE. In what context you place this I’ll just leave up to you! The announcer told us he was the biggest DJ from Belgium and yes, mister Koen Bauweraerts a.k.a Coone popped out of the cocoon! What a happening was this. The crowd was going absolutely crazy, the lasers went crazy and the fireworks was banging into our ears causing permanent damage and we all absolutely loved it! Big respect to DJ Coone for his wonderful set, the crowd went absolutely crazy. Not only because of the music, also due the charisma of mister Bauweraerts!
I hope that the Editor-in-Chief mister Patrick Jumpen allows me to scream one thing out loud: Coone! Get back to the Dirtyworkz Jumpsounds.
After Coone the Hardstyle came, for 3 hours in the main! I’m really not a big fan of Hardstyle and I don’t really get the people that are. Not that I’m Anti-Hardstyle but I just prefer the older Hardstyle sounds like: Pure, Our Power and Pwoap for example. I still hope that it will return one day!
Some other notable things where the sets of for example DJ GAVE, he played all his own records and I absolutely loved that. Q-ic vs Lethal MG also was really impressive. The sound was really mediocre until midnight. In previous editions of Reverze I already experienced the way they don’t use the full sound capabilities of the Sportpalace until it’s midnight, it’s just shortening the party in my opinion!
It was already 3:30 in the morning when I got surprised by The Playboyz Vs Dr. Rude. Oh My God, this was absolutely the best set of the whole evening! Only big hits, many old hits and some were different versions with some nicely added sounds. Everybody was sleeping during the 3 hours of Hardstyle, I was glad these boys set off the alarm-clock and woke everybody up! BOOM! Everybody was jumping and screaming and the crowd went crazy, again! Those 2 guys should be really proud of what they’ve done on this day. RESPECT!

Positive:
- Line-up
- Vibe & Crowd
- Decoration & Light-show
Negative:
- VIP system
- Low volume
- To much Hardstyle

Overall Opinion:
The line-up is so massive that I forgive the Reverze organisation for messing up the VIP-System so badly, the vibe is so good that you (almost) forget that the sound is so horrible and the laser-show makes you so blind that you don’t hear the Hardstyle anymore! OK… Now seriously, it is true what they say. This is the best Harddance event of Belgium, without any doubt!
